WHY Cabinet Painting

Can you truly update your kitchen, really update it so with out remodel price and inconvenience? The answer is YES! Yes you can!

In most kitchens, cabinets and their layouts are actually in decent shape and work very well. When painting there are advantages such as:

  • Modifications for cabinets; adding sliding drawers, trash pull out cabinet, microwave in island, crown molding on top, bead board or panels on islands or end cupboards and repositioning/exchange of handles, just to name a few, can be done at this time without looking like an “add on”.

  • Often times clients have already changed their countertops or backsplash and to get new cabinets often means that these would need to be replaced again as well. Painting keeps these safely intact.

  • Often what is needed is to find the correct color in order to augment the beauty of the granite or tile as well as sometimes handle the issue of “too much conflicting wood” in the space when there are several different types of wood (conflicting doors, trim, cabinets and floors). The correct color(s) can transform the existing countertop, make issues recede (the color of a tile that is staying) as well as rejuvenate the beauty of a wooden floor etc.

GETTING THE JOB DONE RIGHT

One thing that we pride our work on is that we commonly hear people tell our clients “Oh, you redid your kitchen!” not “You painted your cabinets”.

In order to paint cabinets correctly so that the finish is beautiful and lasts, the first stable thing to know is that the paint job is only as good as the preparation of the surface it sits on.

We paint the doors off site and the surface preparation of the cabinet bodies is done on the first day on site with painting following directly the next day. We know that the kitchen is the heart of your home and you can still use it during the onsite process.

During the estimate/consultation we will go over our proprietary technique, which along with the tried and tested top of the line cabinet painting products result in not only the most durable painted finish, but how we make your cabinetry really look like furniture instead of “painted cabinets”.

We schedule tightly so that each coat of primer, paint and polyurethane adheres to technical dry time to ensure the utmost quality, but we do not double book jobs either. We start on your job and are there every business day until it is finished unless otherwise requested or scheduled.

PROFFESSIONALISIM

We pride ourselves on our organization and cleanliness. Every day on site we strive to leave the workspace cleaner than when we arrived.

Though any remodel and home improvement job is an imposition, we strive to make the process as quick, easy and with the least amount of disruption to your family routine as possible.

Here are some important things to be known about painting cabinets:

The way wooden cabinet doors are constructed; they are a frame with a floating panel in the center. This panel “floats” so as to allow for expansion and contraction of the wood due to change of temperature and humidity seasonally. For some reason, weather patterns in certain years can create a strong effect where the panel and frame separate in such a way as to expose a thin strip of the bare wood that is normally behind the frame. As our technique is touch-up-able, this most often be handled by adding some additional paint after a full season has passed. Factory made doors are pre-painted prior to assembly so this doesn’t happen in the same way. This is always a possibility with painting cabinets and we will be glad to discuss any questions and handlings for this with you. It is important to us that you are fully informed of all aspects of painting cabinets prior to proceeding.
