Chris Latham Brillon was a professional Faux Finisher for more than 20 years. She started her business in Columbus, OH and then brought it to Buffalo, NY where she met her husband Serge Brillon, Montreal native, who is the administrative mastermind as well as muscle behind it all. In case you didn’t know, “Brillon” is “Brilliant” in French, hence…”Brilliant Kitchen Solutions”.

After 10 years of faux finishing for Commercial Sites as well as High End Residential Chris decided to take on the often asked for challenge of painting clients kitchen cabinets. Long before cabinet painting became a regular feature/solution on HGTV Chris and Serge started painting kitchens in the Western NY area. Such a high demand quickly followed that they moved beyond the custom plaster finishes and paint to solely concentrate on this one completely different aspect of painting. This is the area that we specialize and we do not do other types of painting (exterior, interior walls etc.)

Originally they didn’t want to take on the challenge as it seemed that it could be a liability for both the customer and their business. Further research into paint showed that only absolute correct surface preparation, along with the top products, adhering to technical specs including dry times and a little extra magic which we only divulge to our clients has produced phenomenally durable and beautiful product that we have been delivering for the past decade!

Serge’s childhood interest in woodworking, which he learned from his father, was reignited, and a full woodshop was established as well as a top of the line paint shop to meet the increasing demand.

One thing that almost 2 decades working in the WNY area has shown is that there are so many wonderful people in the world! Each new client they take on is a fantastic new friendship established where Chris and Serge have the honor of helping to make the heart of their home, the kitchen, the most perfect room in the house to be in!
